Chepstow Girls Shine in Triathlon
Steve C and I pitched up at Bath Uni at the crack of dawn today to support Esther and Lou in the ‘Olympic’ distance Tri - 1.5k swim, 40k very hilly bike, 10k run. Temperatures reached 27 as the event unrolled, but our girls stayed cool and achieved 2.51 and 2.57, which was good enough for Lou to get third place in her category and win her a handsome Bath blue glass trophy and a classy bottle of wine. Well done both of you.
I hear that Gill Ellis is in training for the Cheltenham Tri in late September. And that Bev, Claire and Gareth C have entered the ultimate challenge - the Ironman (Ironwoman in two of the cases)! For those of us who have trouble getting round a conventional marathon, imagine what it’s like doing a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride - and then run your marathon! Wow!!!
