The Half-Fortnight Ahead

Coach of the Month Andy Meek-Welsh opens on Tuesday with his own creation, the Danes Park Loop. Choose 4, 5 or 6 laps to suit your speed and fitness.

Thursday’s run is Sedbury. You can view the route on the Training and Coaching page. You can also shower, change and troll down to the Bellhanger for the monthly Curry Night!!!

Then on Sunday the long awaited Cross Country season starts with a 3-in-one package. The Gwent League at Bridgend is not only the first race in the first series that both our men’s and women’s teams have featured in the top divisions, but it’s also the October Club Champs AND the East Wales Cross Country Champs. And you can take part in all three events by running just the one race!

Entry is free to you. Just report to the Club tent to get registered, put on your Club vest and run. The women’s race starts at 12.50 and the men’s at 2.30. We have a minibus for our juniors (there may be space for a couple of grown-ups) leaving the LC at 10. Or meet at 11 to share cars. Directions and details on http://www.gwent-league.org.uk/

Fell Series - After Race 5, Black Mountains

http://www.chepstowharriers.org.uk/events.htm

The above is a link to the Fell Series results after the Black Mountains race. There was a good turnout, but the Black Mountains is a tough event. Chepstow took the team prize and also had the dubious honour of the team with the most retrials. In the spirit of the event we gave all of those a few consolation points – all that effort is worth something!

Gerry’s Report

With only the Sugar Loaf race left there is still the chance for positions to change, and for more of you to get your name on the roll of honour, joining the 38 harriers who have competed.

Look out for the Presentation, to take place at the Ashton residence in Monmouth, together with a training run and nibbles.

For more information please contact Sue or Gerry Ashton.

For the official Black Mountains results, see http://www.wfra.org.uk/ and search for the results from there.
