The Forthcoming Week

The usual choice of speed or hills on Tuesday. Our regular Thornwell Loop starts with a downhill 1200 metres down the Link Road, followed by three loops with 90 secs recovery.

Or you can have a go at the recently revived Steep Street hill session. This was very popular when we did it a few weeks ago. You alternate the short, sharp half hill with the endurance required for the whole length.

We haven’t done the Shirenewton run on Thursday for a while. Have a look at the route on the Training & Coaching page. Run with others at the pace that suits you.

On Sunday if you’re not running for E Wales at Builth Wells, why not have a go at the Christmas Tree race at Ellwood in the Forest of Dean? A nice varied course with a few ups and downs. Not too late to enter, or you can do it on the day. http://www.fodac.org.uk/documents/christmas_forest_5_2009.pdf

Runners and Helpers Wanted

Would you like to run for East Wales in the Inter-Regional Cross-country Champs on Sunday 13 December?

Already a number of Chepstow runners have been recruited, but there are slots still waiting to be filled in all age groups. And you don’t have to be a world beater to pull on the purple vest.

We’re also looking for three people to help at the finish - no experience required and a good opportunity for potential officials to gain experience. And a mileage is payable to those using their own car.

There will also be places on a coach travelling up from various venues in Monmouthshire for athletes and helpers. Names to Dick Finch please.
