The Week Ahead 14 June 2010

Tuesday brings us the second LCL road race of the season based at Cwmbran Stadium. It’s also the June Club Champs, recently switched from the third LCL at  Parc Penallta on 29 June. So come along and score for your Club and yourself in one swell foop (as Mr Spooner would have it).

Meet at Leis Ctre at 6.30 to share cars.

A very special event on Thursday – our first away run of the Summer. Niki has produced an interesting run around the Catbrook area. We’ll be driving up there from the Leis Ctre, with our Improvers joining us for what promises to be a great Club evening, with drinks and eats to round it off. Not to be missed!

Thursday is either the Bayfield run or  Track Session; 8 x 600m ( 200 jog recoveries )

It is also Curry Night so see you at the Bell Hanger after 9pm.

The weekend is the Castles Relay so the best of luck to all involved – otherwise get reccying your Cotswold Way Stage (please).

Lou – standing in for Dick who is in Poland back Wed. Night.

Thanks to Chepstow Physiotherapy’s Vanessa and Richard Coates

From the feedback this evening people found the talk on injury prevention and treatment very useful.  The most important point I have found is to get an injury diagnosed early so that you can take the right course of action to get your running form back as soon as possible.

Vanessa and Richard have offered to give another session to give more advice on specific injuries.  So if there is a particular problem you would like advice on eg - IT band, achillies  then put your suggestion forward.

Either on the bulletin board http://chepstowharriers.org.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=932&sid=26c50358ebc35c147fbe699e63c8229a  or here.

Tonight after training ( 3rd June )- or just come for the talk - 8.30 p.m. Community Rooms downstairs at the Leisure Centre for,  as Dick said

”what promises to be a very interesting and beneficial talk by Chepstow Physiotherapy on the prevention and treatment of injuries – with free refreshments! You lucky people! Extra slice of cake for first correct identification of the comedian whose catchphrase that was… ”
