Results from the last race in the series can be found online

http://www.chepstowharriers.org.uk/roseinn.htm

(Apologies for the short delay - new baby to deal with…)  The overall series results should be added soon.

And for those who have enjoyed this short flat road race but now fancy something different - take a look at a new race we are putting on this year in september

St. Arvans MT 10 recce.

Thursday we are meeting at St. Arvans village hall at 7:00 p.m.

The hall is on the right of the main road past the garage and Piercefield pub and just round the right hand corner.

Those who want to meet first at the leisure centre to share cars meet by the steps at 6:50 p.m.

The 10 mile race route will be marked for anyone who wants to race the course.  For those  who want a sociable run we will set off in several pace groups.

I will also mark a short cut route back to St. Arvans from Chepstow Park Woods –  Dick will meet you to direct you  - this route is 5 – 6 miles.

There will be refreshments at the hall after.

See you there

Lou

The Week Ahead 8 August 2011

We’re away from home all this week. It’s the final Rose Inn race on Tuesday. Helpers and runners all welcome.

A very special run on Thursday. You may have heard that our Lou has created a new Club race, a 10 mile multi-terrain event starting and finishing in St Arvans. All members  - and the members of the LCL clubs – are invited to do the first trial run of this scenic, varied and interesting course. Be at St Arvans Village Hall (just round the bend from the Piercefield Hotel) ready to run at 7pm. We will be running in groups according to speed, and there will be a nice short-cut option if  you’re not up to 10 miles at present.

There will be free  refreshments after in the village hall – a nice replacement for Curry Night. The race itself is scheduled for Sunday 18 September, and entry forms are already available on our website.

Finally it’s the August Club Champs race on Sunday at Stonehouse near Stroud, Glos. The Standish Woodland Chase starts at 11 and we’ll be publicising a meeting time on the Blog here later in the week. The entry form and details were attached to the WatsOn email you received a couple of weeks ago. It’s a nice mainly off-road race based on the Cotswold Way Path.

Llanthony Show and Fell Race - Saturday 6th August

Llanthony Show Saturday 6th August

Dick’s fell race starts from the showground 12.15 (ish)

3.5 miles 1100ft ascent.

Quite a few Chepstow runners should be there - come and run.

There is a junior fell race which is the same route but they start about a mile up the hill – it’s still a tough race and really for children who are used to running up mountains or just a bit tough!  There are lots of other races for children at the showground too.

Race entry is in the show entry/parking which was £5 last year

http://www.llanthonyshow.co.uk/Directions%20and%20Contacts.html

Show formally opens at 1pm – great show lots of children’s races – plus sack races for adults and children, 4 in a bag race for all, beer race for ‘adults’, a mile race, stalls and a rodeo.

Beautiful backdrop.

Berta’s Hash Run tonight

A reminder of tonight’s away run, which is a hash run organised by Berta.

Starts 7.30pm from Mallards Pike car park, meet at LC 6.45pm to share transport.

I understand it’s a free drink and chips at the secret destination.

From the A48 at Blakeney take the Nibley to Parkend road. Mallards Pike is signposted on the right hand side after approximately three miles.
