Just heard that tomorrow’s xc at Parc Bryn Bach has been postponed due to the weather and the fact that parts of the course are very icy.

Please pass the message on!!

Kymin Race - January Club Championship

Reminder:

the Kymin race, January’s club championship race, is this SATURDAY 7th (not Sunday 8th)

Meet at LC 12.30 to share transport to Monmouth or meet directly there, at the registration at Monmouth School’s Sport Centre, near Lidl.

NB this is not the same as Monmouth Leisure Centre, it’s on the same side of the river as Lidl, right at the Lidl roundabout and then first left.

Start 2pm, cost £3 on the day only.

Please add your name below if you plan to go to the LC

Final Parkrun opportunity

Final Parkrun of 2011 on Saturday 31st December, 9am from Lakers School, Berry Hill.  About 30mins drive from Chepstow.

The Forest of Dean Parkrun is the only one to count towards club championship points so if you have only done 6 events then now is your chance to complete the 2011 championship!!

There is also a 2k Junior Parkrun at 10am.

DON’T FORGET YOUR BARCODE!!

Sospan 10, Sunday 20th November

The November club championship race is this Sunday at Pembrey Country Park, near Llanelli.

The AA website says 1hr 42mins travel so with an 11am start and the fact that people need to pick up numbers etc, I suggest meet at LC being ready to go at 8am.

Stroud Half Marathon sunday 23rd

Sunday is the October club champs race, the Stroud Half Marathon.

Entries have closed now but if you are not running you are welcome to come and cheer! Postcode GL5 4HE

Race start is 10am and it is a bit of a way from the car park to the start so I would suggest leaving Chepstow at 8am to get there in plenty of time.  It’s quite a big race so the roads get very busy and parking has been tricky in the past…If people want to meet at the LC then please post below, but I know several are making their own way there.

After the race we can go for a drink at The Woolpack in Slad, 3miles from Stroud.  The pub is a traditional Cotswold pub with good food and beer and it is famous for its connection with Laurie Lee of ‘Cider with Rosie’.  Thanks Dick for the suggestion.

They advise booking for Sunday lunch so if you think you may want to then their contact details are: GL6 7QA, 01452 813429.  Sunday food served until 3pm.

Upton Bishop Big Dipper Sunday 25th

The September club championship race is next Sunday, 25th September, at Upton Bishop village, near Ross on Wye.

Senior race starts 11am, children’s races from 10.30am.

Meet at LC at 9am to share transport. Takes about 1 hour to get there according to the AA website.

Please note that pre-entry is £6 but entry on the day is £10 so it’s worth entering in advance.  If you enter today you should get in (I hope).  May be worth getting in touch with the organiser (all details on uptonbishop.org)

And afterwards I have been recommended a pub with a lovely name, The Moody Cow, to go and have a post race drink.  This is in the village as well.

Berta’s Hash Run tonight

A reminder of tonight’s away run, which is a hash run organised by Berta.

Starts 7.30pm from Mallards Pike car park, meet at LC 6.45pm to share transport.

I understand it’s a free drink and chips at the secret destination.

From the A48 at Blakeney take the Nibley to Parkend road. Mallards Pike is signposted on the right hand side after approximately three miles.
